Hi Everybody
Just like to inform you that the A5127 Streethay section is now open. So expect too see a lot more traffic now. The only saving grace is according to the signage there is some temporary lights up till the 16th of December for roadworks. So hopefully not all HGVs will start to come up the road as a short cut.But i do expect them too when everything is back to normal. When i get any more news on our issue i will be in touch
Many thanks
Roy
HGVs buses etc have already resumed their normal route to/from the A38 through Streethay. The temporary lights will only create massive tailbacks until the road layout by the old MAFF depot is finished.
Hi Gary
That’s my point while there is congestion hopefully most of the hgvs won’t use it as a through route. Not until the road is clear.

I think you’ve missed my point though. From its opening on Saturday 12/11/16, we’ve already seen a resumption in the traffic not quite to pre-closure levels but once the public realize its open, the traffic lights won’t deter drivers from using it if it saves a 5 mile detour. I don’t think the HGVs will avoid just because of the temporary lights and come tomorrow (Monday 14/11/16) I’m expecting long tailbacks to occur. We’ll watch this space as they say.
Hi Gary
Thanks for your observations keep us up to date about it. As for the hgvs the issue is they come off the A38 to carry on to the A5 just to miss the Wall Island and would rather go through 8 roundabouts and 14 set’s of traffic/pedestrian lights crazy,!! It takes twice as long !!
Thanks again
Roy
